In der Erstiwoche starten viele neue Studierende an der TU Ilmenau. Im Rahmen des Erstiwoche-Programms haben wir einen Workshop angeboten, bei dem die Workshop-Teilnehmer ihre eigene Radiosendung produzieren und dafür in unseren verschiedenen Bereichen mitwirken konnten.

Priyanka berichtet von ihrer Erfahrung im Social Media Department und über den Workshop an sich:

Today was the workshop day at the Student Radio hsf. It was very exciting to see a studio up close for the first time. This place has a history of 76 years. Let me say that again 76 YEARS!! The studio has a beautiful vibe to it, there are pictures and CDs they have collected over the years and beautifully displayed. The team welcomed us with some coffee and cookies. We first gave our introduction, where we are from, what interests us and what brought us here. The team explained us the responsibilities of the radio station, the kind of programs they do, what kind of shows and the schedule. They gave us a tour of the entire conference, the studios, work station and the interview corner. We were given 4 departments such as Redaktion, Technik, Musik and Social Media to choose from. We were then guided by the organisers to explain what happens in their department, what are the tools we have to work with, how the entire website works, the backend and many more. People in the technik department got to learn about the equipment in the studio, the console and how the fader works and more technical stuff.
Simon explained how to create a playlist, where to select the music from and how to maintain a vibe. It all looked super new and exciting to know what happens behind the radio show. I then quickly got into taking pictures and videos. We wanted to shoot behind the scenes and some content for our social media platform. This is my forte and I quickly got into my element. It was all fun. We then ordered Pizza and I ordered a Döner Kebab for myself and this was my first time tasting döner. The day ended talking about German culture, sharing our experiences with the language and food. What a day! The day was fun because of the people I met at hsf. Danke Schön :)
